About the Java Developer Role
HBSPL is looking for a Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software applications using Java and modern backend technologies. The role involves building REST APIs, managing database operations, developing backend services, and resolving application issues. You will work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other technical teams to deliver secure, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a strong foundation in Java as well as professionals with relevant development experience who want to contribute to practical software projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain applications using Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and relevant Java frameworks.
- Build RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices using Spring Boot and related technologies.
- Write SQL queries and work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, using Hibernate and JPA where required.
- Produce clean, reusable, and maintainable code by following Java coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Perform unit testing, debug technical issues, and participate in code reviews to improve application quality, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Use Git for version control and Maven or Gradle for building and managing application dependencies.
- Support CI/CD and deployment activities while helping identify and resolve application defects.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to improvements in application reliability, code quality, and development workflows.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of Core Java, OOP concepts, Collections Framework, exception handling, and multithreading.
- Familiarity with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, MySQL or PostgreSQL, Hibernate, and JPA.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software development principles.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven or Gradle, JUnit, unit testing, and debugging techniques.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend-backend integration is an advantage.
- Exposure to Linux, cloud platforms, Docker, and CI/CD practices is beneficial.
- Ability to analyse technical problems, identify practical solutions, and work effectively with a team.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and development practices.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Java certifications, academic projects, internships, or hands-on application development experience will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Freshers: Candidates with Java fundamentals, academic projects, internships, or practical exposure to software development are encouraged to apply.
- Experienced Professionals: Previous experience in Java development, Spring Boot, backend engineering, REST API development, or related software development work is preferred.
